Running of the Stripers

I need a new boat. Three of us went out last week and caught 20-30 fish, two of them were keepers. We filleted them right on the boat and divided them up. Mine went straight into a cajun marinade then onto the grill that night. There are few things that beat fresh fish or game. I didn’t get out during the spring turkey season, so I’m making up for it now.

So the boat search marches on.

  1. MMM, gooooood, striped bass is a wonderful tasting fish, and a great sport fish too. I have not really had a chance to try my luck yet this year – no boat here – so just from the shore.

  2. I just got back from my first ever fly fishing trip up to Oregon. Very cool and no boat necessary.

I’m able to fish for strippers on the Sacto delta pretty successfully from shore.

Here in the People’s Republic of California, if you’re caught with filleted fish, they are taken and you’re fined.
